Civil rights activist Clara Luper will lay in repose on the first floor of the Oklahoma State Capitol on Thursday June 16, 2011 from noon till 4 p.m. The capitol is a public building and Oklahomans and well-wishers are invited to visit and pay their respects.
Governor Fallin released the following statement:
“Clara Luper was an Oklahoma hero and I am pleased we are able to honor her here at the capitol building. Her leadership and commitment to equality and justice will never be forgotten. My thoughts and prayers are with her family as we remember her life and her many accomplishments.”
